New Galaxy Z Flip 7 Rumor Disappoints Snapdragon Fans

Galaxy Z Flip 7

Samsung’s next-generation Flip foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, will introduce some unique features that will intrigue smartphone enthusiasts. However, it may disappoint Snapdragon chips fans.

Exynos chips have been a staple in all Galaxy products, from budget to flagship. However, Samsung’s flagship foldable phones have usually come with Qualcomm chips. This trend is changing with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, marking a significant shift in Samsung’s strategy.

According to a report by Seoul Economic Daily, Samsung will begin mass production of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 next month. The report’s details about this smartphone are interesting, as it will only be available with the Exynos 2500 chip.

The Exynos 2500 chip, a marvel of 3nm lithography, was initially anticipated for the Galaxy S25 series. If the Korean source’s report holds, this will mark a significant shift for Samsung’s Flip series, as it will be the first time a foldable phone is produced without a Snapdragon chip. The mass production of the two new Samsung foldable phones is set to commence in South Korea and Vietnam.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will feature a larger external display, a development sure to excite smartphone enthusiasts. Samsung’s production plans include around 240,000 units of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in the second quarter of 2025 and 170,000 units of its more economical version, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. In contrast, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will launch with an initial run of 160,000 units.

The FE model, an emerging star in Samsung’s foldable phone family, is expected to be a significant addition. With its more economical price point, Samsung is likely anticipating a warm reception for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE,

a testament to the company’s commitment to providing a range of options for its customers.
