When police encounter speeding cars, they need fast and powerful models like the Corvette C8. These vehicles offer high speed and manoeuvrability, enabling law enforcement to quickly apprehend suspects and ensure public safety. In recent years, SUVs have entered the US police fleet, and classic police cars are becoming rare. However, this doesn’t mean that officers are limited to family cars with flashing lights. In certain situations, police also rely on sports cars.

According to Motor1, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has recently added a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette C8 to its fleet. This model features a 6.2-litre LT2 V8 engine with 490 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque.

It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 194 mph. The car was seized by the DEA Task Force and provided to the police at no cost to taxpayers.

The new Florida State Police Corvette has a unique look with a special two-tone “d” paint scheme and custom State Trooper lettering on the rear fenders. But what truly sets it apart are the police modifications. The exterior changes include powder-coated dual-spoke wheels, carbon fibre badging, and patrol lights. The Corvette’s cabin also has various police-duty accessories, including a ticket printer, making it a unique addition to the fleet.
